Handmade Crochet Flowers

I came across some crochet lily flowers. I am always curious of how they are made so I wanted to give these a try. Usually when I don't post anything it is because I am working on something. I found a video which was not in English I  followed this lady through. I wish she had a pattern to follow. I made the long leaves myself but for the front leaves I follow another lady. If you search on you tube you can find these ladies that I'm talking about just search crochet flowers. I added wire and florist tape and arrange them in a pot with white pebbles and florist foam. Calla lily is the easiest flower to make if you want to try. I am fascinated how many things they can do out of crochet. Here are my flowers all made of cotton yarn.

Wayuu crochet bag

I wanted to use some of my wool so I made this lovely bag. I made it slightly smaller and I think it could be very handy for anyone. This will be in my etsy shop @ amiguruminanna . I love the colours I used but I think I could have loved the yellow as a back ground. I made this pattern before I love geometric patterns. I made one each for my daughters but only my eldest daughter have used it and like it. So I asked it if she like any particular one and she told me she likes grey, black and white. Now she has to find a pattern she likes. These Wayuu, Mochilla bags are very simple to make. It takes me more then 12 hours to make plus the cords and stitches.

Another Wayuu, Mochilla bag

I love making these bags there is not much sewing involved. It is the same colours as my other one but different pattern. These bags seems more complicated then they really are but the result is amazing. I made different cord and I am getting better at making tinsels. I also made the straps a little wider. I will try and sell this bag on etsy it is made as a bag pack so more useful. This pattern could be much simpler but I always wants to see how it turns out first the I can change it if I like. most likely I will make another different pattern. It gives me such satisfaction when I see it all done. Well here is my bag.

Handmade Crochet Wayuu bag

I told you that this is not my last handmade Wayuu bag, infect here is another bag. There is a little difference in this bag the way I worked every single crochet is the proper way is suppose to be done. Also it is a bag pack. I made it different for my kids though. You only have to concentrate on the back the rest is easy at least for me. This is made from a graph that I found on pinterest, my favourite web sight after facebook. I just love to see new things that people post and get some ideas from there. I wasn't aware but some Wayuu bases have different stitch numbers. This one everything went well. My favourite colours that I always seem to be attracted to are browns mustard orange light brown aren't they Mexican colours.
I know the colour black grey versions and white go well together too. I will be doing some with those colours. Here is my latest bag so far. Do you like it? I will be selling these on Etsy. Check out my Etsy store

Crochet purple blanket

I started this blanket as a mandala rug. I had a problem going around it was increasing too many stitches. So had to unpick many rows and started to go more like a square blanket. I love the colours I used and I was trying new stitches along the way. There is a nice blanket tutorial which I would love to give that a go one day. I am in love with wayuu bags at the moment. I am enjoying making bags. I did waist some colours that I had which is good. blankets do the longer to finish so a bit boring to be working on the same thing for some time. Anyway time to say till next time. Cheerio

Crochet Wayuu bag

I can reveal what had been working on. I was making a wayuu bag for my eldest daughter for Christmas I wanted to finish it by Christmas and I managed to make it on time. I wish I could have found darker brown yarn with the colours I had but I didn't. I asked her that if she doesn't like it I would make her another with the colours she likes but she liked it. It would have came nicer with lining inside but I can' t be bothered with sewing. I did this pattern from a graph that I found on pinterest.com. I think I will make more of these bags maybe to sell on etsy. it is a lovely handmade bag if you ask me. I will show the bag to you. the bottom of the bag is patterned too.

Colourful crochet blanket

I had lots of little bits of yarn so I wanted to find a way to use it. I looked for crochet designs and I found this one which I wanted to try. It is easy and looks very nice, I think you all agree. There is also a video of how this is made. This blanket was made from this you tube but they are varieties of this look. It looks nice from both ways back and front of the blanket. I still have little bits of yarn left as I wanted to make a whole row of the colour, though you can use at the start and at the end of it. Well it is nice and colourful I tried to match the colours as best as I know how. You should try this it is fun as a throw rug or baby blanket. I don't think I will put a boarder on it as I think it doesn't go. Not finished yet still working on it.  Here is my colourful blanket which  I think I will give it to my youngest daughter.

Colourful crochet blanket

I felt like I had lots of wool so I thought making a crochet blanket is a good idea. I had lots of colours that I thought I will not be able to use them on toys. I had already made another baby blanket with this pattern. I like this pattern as it is warm and looks nice too. It is very easy to make and there are lots of videos with this pattern. I always like to try new patterns and of course I have to like it too. Crochet blankets are fun to make as you don't have to concentrate all the time. I wanted to make this for a baby blanket but one of my daughters love the colours I chose and she wants it for herself. Here are the two blankets that I made and finished.

Amigurumi exciting stuff

So I said that I am not very creative but I prayed to come up with something special. I think I did manage to make something handmade and very special and adorable, I am happy anyway. It is a baby toy and my youngest grandson inspired me because he likes to hold on to my fingers.I tried to make them different in some ways. I also tried to make them in bright colours. Kids like that. Since then I have opened a shop on etsy so here you can check all my things. All my things are copyright so please respect my wishes. https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/AmigurumiNanna?ref=hdr_shop_menu

Granny squares colourful blanket

It has been a while but blankets do take longer time to make. My second daughter came up to me and asked me if I could make her a colourful blanket and ofcourse I said yes. She was choosing all the colours that she wanted together, she helped a little too making the granny squares. I think she did a very good job in picking up the colours together. It took me less then two months to make I mostly worked at nights on it. She also wanted wider border and she wanted that floral finish too. I am glad I did something for her that she wished for. Mothers' are good at that pleasing their children.

Funky Zebra

I was suppose to make a tiger but by accident I turned the page to a zebra. I wasn't going to unpick all my hard work so here it is my funky zebra. It is the same pattern as the zebra from the same book. The colors changes them a bit. Now I have to make the tiger.
I have posted the picture of the zebra too so you can see how striking it looks when you use different color yarn.

Black and white Zebra

I made this Zebra from the book Edward's Menagerie. My youngest daughter gave it to me for Christmas. I only did one thing and I decided to make more. It is hard to work with black wool but it does look nicer. This toy is safe for younger kids and the eyes have been embroidered. I enjoyed making it. The mane is different it doesn't explain how so I made up my own. It looks better and also the tail I couldn't understand what he meant.

Kitty cat

I wanted to make this cat again. I made one like this in brown and had closed eyes. This one has bendable legs and longer too. I put a rattle inside since my youngest daughter wants it. Those paintings my middle daughter did them, how good is she! Not even if I try hard I wouldn't be able to paint them. You know when they were very young, I used to draw things for them and they had to guess what it was. They ate this way with out problems. They say whatever you introduce to kids before three of  age they will grow up doing it. Well I don't know if that's true but all my kids are artists in their own way. My eldest daughter painted all her paintings to decorate her house. I would say she was the least interested and she did the most paintings. My eldest daughter has a professional job. The other two are graphic designers. The put their work on Red bubble and one of their item was in gallery here in Melbourne.

Little kitty

I made this lovely kitty which I think you will like as well. I made this from Chica outlet. I always put the link to the patterns for you to let you know where I get them. So if you would like to try them it is there. This one is fairly easy. If you use contrasting colours will look great I reckon. It is great for little children as there are no safety eyes no choking hazards. I have to research about the whiskies I'm not quite sure how they stick them on. There is also a flower if you would like to insert one I didn't. Anyway here is the picture of my little kitty cat.

Hippo

I have made this hippo from revelry website. It was hard to make the nostrils I wasn't macthing so I gave up few months back. I decided to give it another go. I was a stitch more so I worked around it. The rest of it is pretty straight forward. Yes I think any experienced person used to make amigurumi can make this beautiful hippo. I like how it looks like the real thing. here are some photos of it. I reckon it took me twelve hours to make.

Beautiful Crab

This is one of the most fiddle thing I made, but turned out to be so nice. The lady who made this pattern is very smart and also very generous to share it. It is not very difficult to make. The colours are beautiful. I will never know if it is going to turn out like the picture in the pattern, so when It does I feel great. I used pipe cleaners in the legs/fingers whatever you want to call them.

My sleeping doll

My sleeping doll again without a pattern. So far I keep trying and see what I can come up with that is cute. I got inspired for this doll from the waldorf sleeping baby. I felted the eyes and lips. It is easier to do then embroider them. As you can see it is pretty basic for those who have done dolls before. I like making dolls and before I finish one thing I'm already thinking of what I'm going to do next. You will find out from the next photo I guess if you keep checking.

My buzzbee

Hi guys, I just finished making this buzzbee for my grandson. He had a smile when he saw it. He is nearly one and he can recognize it. I had no pattern for it. I tried to copy a picture. It is the best I could do for now I guess.I'm always learning and improving. They say practice makes perfect and it is so. I saw the first toys I made and I can tell you the stuffing showed a little. I crochet tight I thought but I can do it much better now.First picture is the buzzbee I wanted to make but I looked at the videos to look at him sideways, front and back. Anyway here is what my buzzbee looks like. I haven't done things to scale haven't I
