Crochet coat/cardigan, and skirts
I made this lovely coat /cardigan whatever you want to call it. I found the cardigan on pinterest.com. There is a video tutorial for it. It looks hard but you will get the hang of it. I love how mine turned out that I had an idea to make skirts that style. I will include them here. The worst part is that you have to work in, all your tails from all the different colours you use. The size of my coat is a newborn. I would like to make a bigger one but I have no grand daughters. My coat is still without buttons I have bought them I just need to sew them on.Tuesday, 14 June 2016
Humpty Dumpty
I made this Humpty Dumpty my own pattern which I will try it out again. I searched and searched for a nice pattern and I found an excellent one at crochet creation by Alison. I msg her on facebook and she replied that she doesn't have the pattern yet that she will get back to it when she has time. it was late for me so I tried it out I unpicked 6 times in making the body I didn't even like the last one but I thought I would see how it finishes up. I was satisfied with the body at the end. I attached all the pieces which were many and made the hair. What I found hard is the eye brows and the white in the eyes. I tried different ideas for the eyes and at the end I made the ball separate and white on top. I could have done just the black and let the white show from underneath but I had trouble attaching the black thing.I also put a rattle inside. I am happy with the result at the end.

My little Lion
My little lion looks like a cat why, I need to find out why. My youngest daughter wanted a lion to give out as a present so that is why I did this lion. I did the pattern from Amigurumi to go but changed the muzzle because I thought hers looks like a bear but now mine looks like a cat. I added more mane around the face. This time I used safety eyes and I also used glue, so it is more safer. This took me about six hours to make it is fairly small good for a child to hold. I also put a rattle in it so it makes noise. The mane is the longest to make I did a separate head and I also did some on the actual toy. You guys should give this one a try It is easy straight forward once you know how to follow patterns besides Amigurumi to go might have the video to show you how to make this lion. Here is mine

Part of my childhood
We had to get up early and get ready for mass, that was a daily thing. Once in awhile, I felt like sleeping in so I played it sick. My excuse was a headache or a I didn't feel well. In summer though when we attended mass I often felt faintish and it wasn't just me. The special fun times that I remember where the Americans would collect all the institutes together and make us a very big party. there were the boys from the orphanage the girls' one and ours. We would talk to each other as we knew some of the girls from the other orphanages. We would eat plenty of food and playing games and Santa would be there giving us maybe lollies don't remember if we got presents. We also went to Malta on the buses with the boys' orphanage to a lemonade factory. It was fascinating to see the bottles being washed and filled with lemonade, closed with a lid without no help from people. They gave each of us a bottle to drink, we ate like in a restaurant that they have organised for us and after that we went to a beach in Malta. On the way to the ferry, a boy sat next to me and we talked heaps. As a young girl talking with a boy was fun. lol. So far, I have seen a couple of girls that were with us and we treat them like sisters.

My punishment
When I was in the convent all you know and love are the people around you nuns and the girls. We were all girls so if a girl leaves the convent I used to find it hard. When a nun leaves I sometimes cried for them. They become part of your family. It was very good when we had young nuns they were creative. I remember when it used to be a nice summer day we used to be playing picture lotto and the older ones would be cross stitching I learned how to do that too. We had a summer place we used to go there maybe for a week. We used to go swimming but I vaguely remember that. If by any chance a nun forgot to put her veil on I used to think she was naked and sighed. About once a month or when my mother could take us home to stay for the weekend she had to use transport as she or my father didn't drive at that time. Transport was not convenient those days buses did their route till eleven in the morning. Once a week my mother would take our dirty clothes and bring them clean sometime during the week. We didn't always see her maybe she would be in a hurry. She would bring us a packet of biscuits which we shared between four siblings. Once, a week we used to have a catholic gathering called Legion of Mary, there we would pray the rosary and report good deeds or prayers we had done the week prior. In one of these gathering I couldn't stop talking and laughing so the lady kicked me out of that room, one of the nuns saw me and asked me why I was behind the door, so I had to tell her why, she told me as a punishment no home visit. So my sisters went home of course it hurts that I didn't go but instead the few girls that were left there went for a walk outside the convent. When life falls into a routine you will not remember much of it, it is the special instances that you will remember. I hold a special place for the nuns, I love their commitment and dedications I loved being there and I considered it good times. No payment all for God, I wish God will reward them 1000 times more which I'm sure He will. Talking with my sisters they say the same thing about the nuns. Till next time.

Amigurumi banana
Since I made a monkey my youngest daughter suggested I should make a banana so I searched for a pattern and I found this one. The banana is too big for that monkey so I have to make a smaller one for it. I found the yellow part after the peel a little hard to do so good luck with that, if any one wants to try it. There are lots of fruits out there if you have little girls and have lots of fun making them. I made him wink as I had only one eye in that colour, don't know how because I buy the eyes in pairs.I also added a that brown bit it looks better I reckon.

Little kitty
I made this lovely kitty which I think you will like as well. I made this from Chica outlet. I always put the link to the patterns for you to let you know where I get them. So if you would like to try them it is there. This one is fairly easy. If you use contrasting colours will look great I reckon. It is great for little children as there are no safety eyes no choking hazards. I have to research about the whiskies I'm not quite sure how they stick them on. There is also a flower if you would like to insert one I didn't. Anyway here is the picture of my little kitty cat.

Little Ted
I wanted a small teddy bear to attach it to a key clasp but this came big to use it for that. I made this little Ted from Sheep of Delight. I like it because I didn't have to do a muzzle separate. I wanted to try and see how it is made attached to the head. the pattern is easy so give it a try. The end results is cute. I made the mouth different to hers. Here is my picture.
Little doll
I made this lovely doll from Amigurumi BB. It wasn't hard to make easy to follow pattern. I did change the dress it was way too short for my doll. I continued increasing stitches according to her pattern and added another frill. I also wanted body to her hair so I added bangs Technic to about four rows from the bottom of the head. It is strange for me to leave her without a mouth and a nose. My girls said leave her to the child's imagination. So here is a picture of her.

Two girls
The other day, two girls went to the shop close by. These two girls often go to the shop. let's call the girls one Mary and the other one Bridget. As they were walking back towards me, I saw Mary had some hidden stuff under her jacket. What went through my head was, did she steal them? why was she hiding them? What would you have done in my position? I felt a duty towards Mary to teach her right from wrong, I would have liked to stop this habit at an earlier age if so. But I was thinking, what if her mum yells at me and tell me to mind my own business. So I said and did nothing. I saw that Bridget wasn't happy to go with her the next day, so later on when I saw her alone, I asked her why did she hid the stuff she bought? there was no response. Just letting you know what you would have done in my position?

Amigurumi large doll
I made this from Bb amigurumi
I added the nose and ears. Amazingly it didn't take me very long to make it. It is the largest thing that I've done so far.
