My little Lion

My little lion looks like a cat why, I need to find out why. My youngest daughter wanted a lion to give out as a present so that is why I did this lion. I did the pattern from Amigurumi to go but changed the muzzle because I thought hers looks like a bear but now mine looks like a cat. I added more mane around the face. This time I used safety eyes and I also used glue, so it is more safer. This took me about six hours to make it is fairly small good for a child to hold. I also put a rattle in it so it makes noise. The mane is the longest to make I did a separate head and I also did some on the actual toy. You guys should give this one a try It is easy straight forward once you know how to follow patterns besides Amigurumi to go might have the video to show you how to make this lion. Here is mine

Tiny shoes

I saw a nice pattern of these shoes in red, black and white and I had to try them. I bought the pattern and I had trouble continuing after joining the shoe up. So I contacted the seller of the pattern and she tried to explain but in the meantime, I felt I couldn't do it so I left it for a week, like I always do and finished other stuff  that needed finishing. I tend to leave it once I find a problem and it is hard for me to go and keep on working on it. I work tight and the wool was dark and that is also why I couldn't get to the stitch that I had to get  to. Since I bought the pattern I had to give it another go so I finally knew what I had to do. Sometimes it is better to leave it and get to it some other day somehow it helps with a fresh mind. Then it was all good for the rest of the shoe. Maybe you guys won't find so hard as I did so try it out. I did mine different colours to fit my grandson's clothing. Here are the pictures of both the blue one is mine. Should have stuffed the shoe with paper  for he photo but you get the gist.

My childhood

In our school we had children that came and go. I must have been ten, I don't know how they knew about me having head lies. I never had them at home. The nun took me in that room where we hardly used and she would put stinky stuff in my head cover it with white towel for awhile and she would pick the lies, like the gorilla and then brush with special black comb. I don't know who else had it they were nice about it. I bet no one knew I had them. She checked me few times after that and I was all good. I also remember in summer we had to help our gardener he was old and we had to water where he told the nuns. We were pumping water  which we all took turns and some carrying buckets to water the plants were needed, it took forever and it was very tiring. Our snack would be bread and butter and if there was extra the older ones would have it if they were still hungry, that's  how it was. We always played after lunch and dinner and we sang a special song at night which sadly don't remember it. We said prayers in the mornings and at nights, and also before and after meals. I think we were about twenty of us back then. Since our nuns lived on providence my mother used to bring what she had to spare we weren't wealthy but once she brought four of her best chickens and my sister put them in this room where she forgot to tell the man about them. They were locked up for a long time without food and water, they must have been laying eggs and eating them to survive, I know it was a month when someone remembered about them, you know what they lived. Some more of what I can remember next time.

My buzzbee

Hi guys, I just finished making this buzzbee for my grandson. He had a smile when he saw it. He is nearly one and he can recognize it. I had no pattern for it. I tried to copy a picture. It is the best I could do for now I guess.I'm always learning and improving. They say practice makes perfect and it is so. I saw the first toys I made and I can tell you the stuffing showed a little. I crochet tight I thought but I can do it much better now.First picture is the buzzbee I wanted to make but I looked at the videos to look at him sideways, front and back. Anyway here is what my buzzbee looks like. I haven't done things to scale haven't I

Peppa pig

Peppa pig, I started it on a pattern not quite know whose pattern is it. I ended up leaving it because I wasn't happy how the eyes came and left it there for weeks. Finally I decided to finish it. It is another TV character for very young children

Hoot from a tv show

This is from a kids ' tv show giggle and hoot. I made this as I go no patterns. I wish I wrote the patterns because it came so good. I tried my best to copy as best as I can.

My childhood

Today I will tell you about my childhood. when I was nine years old my mother asked me if I wanted to go to the nuns convent. Since it was kind of fashion back then I said yes. I never regretted it, it was the best years of my life. So, one Saturday,  my younger sister Nadine,(different name)  she was seven and I went there. We were little, so when they made our beds, they put them together as they thought we would fall down. They also put plastic so we won't wet the beds. I told then nun, we don't pee in bed and she told me, here, you don't say that, you say toilet. That was the first day, I still remember it so clearly. I am very proud to say, there, at the nuns, I learnt many things, I wouldn't have learnt at home. I knew how to knit and purl at home. We were allocated jobs, from four years old to seventeen years old. The four year old, her job was to sweep the stairs. Mine was different every week, sometimes it was washing the breakfast cups and saucers and someone else will wipe and put away. Sometimes was to wash the dishes at dinner time with someone else. I used to wash the nuns' plates not so much the rest of the other chores. The nun in the kitchen used to want me there to help her making biscuits and whatever sweets she did. But as a young girl, she would send me in the pantry, which was in another room to get her stuff. Like those tiny silver balls that you add to cookies. I wouldn't know what she was talking about, so I stay there till she comes and get me. Sometimes, she would explain better, where the things are and I got her the right thing. I would feel so relieved.  The nuns were very good to us and we never were treated badly. In Christmas time, it felt like Christmas. Easter felt like Easter. We did dramas, we went picnics, we had a house near the beach and we went swimming. There was order, discipline, play time, work time, embroidery time, fun games. Today I wish to thank all those nuns in my life, I wish to see them and I love them all so much. I wish God will reward them for me. I'm living in Australia now and when I went for back holidays twenty three years ago, I went to visit the place, where I stayed for five years, till I was about fourteen. The place looked smaller now but i was so happy being there remember my childhood. There was only one nun left that I knew. The place is not for children any more. It is a home for older priests. I will stop here today.
