Turtle blanket

I loved making this blanket. I used the wool I had not tried to make it as real as possible. It was for my little grandson. I made the trutles myself after I searched and searched. I didn't want to make them to be 3 D, I also added star fish and shells. also I made a turtle coming out from the egg. Planet June has this type of  blanket. My grandson loved it and it is a lovely thing to make for kids. First you make the blanket then you sew the appliques on it. You need to secure them properly so it is safe for them. Good luck if any of you give it a go.

Colourful crochet blanket

I had lots of little bits of yarn so I wanted to find a way to use it. I looked for crochet designs and I found this one which I wanted to try. It is easy and looks very nice, I think you all agree. There is also a video of how this is made. This blanket was made from this you tube but they are varieties of this look. It looks nice from both ways back and front of the blanket. I still have little bits of yarn left as I wanted to make a whole row of the colour, though you can use at the start and at the end of it. Well it is nice and colourful I tried to match the colours as best as I know how. You should try this it is fun as a throw rug or baby blanket. I don't think I will put a boarder on it as I think it doesn't go. Not finished yet still working on it.  Here is my colourful blanket which  I think I will give it to my youngest daughter.

Bunny boy and bunny girl amigurumi toys

I wanted to make something that my little grandson could hold without hurting himself. He likes to hold your finger. I was searching for something to make and voila I saw a girl rabbit and since it is for a boy I didn't make the skirt. I also made it longer then the pattern. I also made the girl rabbit cause my youngest daughter liked it. I already gave the toy to my grandson he loved it. It is fairly safe as it has no safety eyes. They are embroidered. I also made a small flower near one of the ear of the girl rabbit. I made a longer skirt  and changed where I started the skirt. Very easy to make and also quick not much sewing required. Here are my rabbits.

Part of my childhood

We had to get up early and get ready for mass, that was a daily thing. Once in awhile, I felt like sleeping in so I played it sick. My excuse was a headache or a I didn't feel well. In summer though when we attended mass I often felt faintish and it wasn't just me. The special fun times that I remember where the Americans would collect all the institutes together and make us a very big party. there were the boys from the orphanage the girls' one and ours. We would talk to each other as we knew some of the girls from the other orphanages. We would eat plenty of food and playing games and Santa would be there giving us maybe lollies don't remember if we got presents.  We also went to Malta on the buses with the boys' orphanage to a lemonade factory. It was fascinating to see the bottles being washed and filled with lemonade, closed with a lid without no help from people. They gave each of us a bottle to drink, we ate like in a restaurant that they have organised for us and after that we went to a beach in Malta. On the way to the ferry, a boy sat next to me and we talked heaps. As a young girl talking with a boy was fun. lol. So far, I have seen a couple of girls that were with us and we treat them like sisters.

Bride's bouquet

Here is the bride's bouquet. Again I made it up to her taste. she wanted feathers, pearls, net and satin ribbon. It is the shape she wanted it to be. I also added a ribbon but I can't take photo of it sorry guys.

Oven mittens

Oven mittens were actually my daughter's orders. She wanted these specific ones and her sister picked the material for her. It was a challenge to do, broke about five sewing needles in the process. Once I got the hang of it, didn't take me long to do. She happened to like them which makes me feel good. Made an apron to match. Sewing is great fun, when you have a sewing machine that works well. Anyway here is a picture of the stuff.

 

Amish ball

Isn't this cute and soft. I made this Amish ball from this pattern. It is easy to do give it a try. It is fun for kids and they are not going to hurt themselves with it. It is also a puzzle ball. You can mix and match any colors. So here is my picture of my Amish ball.

Koala

Hi there,
How are you all, who is reading this? I will tell you what I witness yesterday, it was raining, so it was expected, I guess, what I'm about to tell you. I heard a car breaking really hard and I looked to see a car stopping hard because she couldn't make the lights, and she reversed her car a little. Another car holden almost new, stopped behind this wagon car. At this point the green light came and I was looking the other way when I heard a hard smash of a car, so I looked in that direction to see it was the same lady who forgot to change her reverse gear to go forward, poor lady it wasn't her day. The other couple got out to check the damage in their car.  I didn't see any damage, but she had, she dented her car so they exchanged the numbers and whatever necessary. I felt sorry for the lady, now she has to go home and tell her husband and I thought what if he was an angry man.  It was her fault even though they say whoever hit you from the back is at fault. i thought I share that with you guys. I hope I didn't bore you too much.



I am challenging myself in making a koala. I am writing the pattern as I go. I hope it turn out at least ok. Anyone is doing a new thing? I will post a picture of it once I finish it. I finished the koala and I didn't write all the pattern. I was unpicking and it was challenging the way I imagine it to be anyway here is the picture of my koala.

Amigurumi large doll

I made this from Bb amigurumi

 I added the nose and ears. Amazingly it didn't take me very long to make it. It is the largest thing that I've done so far.
