I wanted to make the hippo blanket because I had an idea in my head. It didn't actually work as I wanted it to. The effect I wanted it to be didn't actual show. I like it better this way then just the head and hands. I work tight so I needed to work the blanket with a bigger hook. In a way it is safe for babies as they can' t get their little fingers hooked in it. I like the blue colours that I used and the pattern of the blanket. They are free from pinterest.com. I like his little cute ears and head. Cute hippo pity it is not a little bit bigger. I embroidered the eyes, I think it is safer. Good luck with yours if you have a go.

Crochet colourful blanket
When you are given lots of yarn and it is textured and you don't know what to do with it, a good way is to make blankets. I made one not quite similar to this but same manner and I liked it so I wanted it like it more then stripes. I have different colour black and faded colour but it is very useful to cover little kids with it while napping. I used a lot of different blues here all was given to me that I thought I will not use for amigurumi. The yarn had different texture it is a very good way to used it this way. I had two different colour blacks and different yarn like acrylic and wool. The light blue yarn was thin different ply so I worked it with two strands. Without planning anything working as I go I must admit I like the results. I thought I will show you this project.

Amigurumi turtle blanket
My daughter wanted me to make her one of these baby blanket. So I found a free pattern for the blanket on Planet June's website. She also have lovely turtles' patterns as well but I didn't feel like buying her patterns this time. I searched for real look turtles and it took me awhile but I ended up finding what I liked. It was also a free pattern if I am not mistaken I found this turtle pattern from revalry.com. the turtles take awhile to make as they are all in pieces so lots of sewing. The blanket will be useful. I used all the blue yarn which I love to use what I have. I most likely would make another one with pastel colours like what my daughter likes but I had to try one.

Crochet blanket
I made this blanket because I sold one blanket on etsy. I needed another one to replace it. If I don't get to sell it one of my daughter's can use it then. I searched for a crochet stitch that I liked. I tried this stitch three times because I found it with too many holes. This is the best tension that I found good for it. The stitch is called larks foot but when one of my daughter saw it, she said it looks like you are pointing the rude finger. There is a wrong side and a right side but I like the reverse side best. I put a good reversible border on which of course was my first time too. I was about to finish it and it was late at night so I tried few times how to finish and I just couldn't so I went to bed. When I went to try to finish this border it worked nicely from the first go. It is amazing what a good sleep does to the brain. I am very happy how it turned up and i am sure it will be useful for someone out there, here are some pictures of it.

Colourful crochet blanket
I had lots of little bits of yarn so I wanted to find a way to use it. I looked for crochet designs and I found this one which I wanted to try. It is easy and looks very nice, I think you all agree. There is also a video of how this is made. This blanket was made from this you tube but they are varieties of this look. It looks nice from both ways back and front of the blanket. I still have little bits of yarn left as I wanted to make a whole row of the colour, though you can use at the start and at the end of it. Well it is nice and colourful I tried to match the colours as best as I know how. You should try this it is fun as a throw rug or baby blanket. I don't think I will put a boarder on it as I think it doesn't go. Not finished yet still working on it. Here is my colourful blanket which I think I will give it to my youngest daughter.
