Kids' beanies

I made these small beanies and vintage hats from patterns. They are small because I could have used the wrong ply yarn and hook. Most likely, I did but they are cuter anyway, pity I don't have any little girls in my family yet. I also bought that pink yarn which I regretted buying a day after. I thought to myself it is ugly I don't know why I bought it in the first place but I do like the result now. I like the pink vintage hats. So that could happen to you too, one day, where you hate your purchase of yarn but what you do with it it will be a great. The hats are from patterns but I did alterations to some because I saw them small and also extended the rows.I always learn something new. Here on these beanie I did those three rows it is fun to do that. I used the same technic for the other two hats. How that ribbon came about I searched  for crochet ribbons and it turned up. I also had to make the crab stitch on the ribbon which is new too for me.

How nice is the hat below I didn't know it looks that good. Seeing it on the model I love it. It is from a free pattern, I could have made extra rows if I saw it small and extended the increases of stitches. I will make another one with different colour of flower.

Beret

How these beret came about is I saw a handsome man wearing a lovely light brown beret. He looked great, so I thought I will make one for my grandson. I made one and came small so I kept making to see what size will fit him. It turned out he doesn't like wearing them. Since I have too many now I will sell them at a market. The pattern I used is from you tube, she has two videos, so if you type flat beret it turns up. It is easy to make she has a good tutorials. you don't need much wool either. Here are the pictures of my berets.

Ladies headband

Here is what my daughter asked me for a headband. She wanted a dark colour one and with no flower on it, so it is easy to slip it on. It is done in crochet but the stitch looks like knitting. Very easy to do and quick as well. I used acrylic yarn and my daughter loves it which is the main thing. The width is good enough for her but you can do it as wide as you like.

Crochet Beanie slouch

I always like to try new stuff. I get bored doing the same things, this way I keep myself interested in this craft. How the beanie came about is my older grandson tried his father's beanie and I wanted to make him one. I actually made him two because I didn't have his brother's head circumference and I made the other one big enough to fit him too. One is brown and the other one blue and brown. just had enough wool. I got the free pattern from pinterest.com. I had to increase more as my wool was 8 ply. I'm so happy, I am using a lot of yarn. I need to buy new colours. Who knows what I will be doing next I know my daughter wants me to make her something so you might come here and check to see what it is. Till next time

Colourful crochet blanket

I felt like I had lots of wool so I thought making a crochet blanket is a good idea. I had lots of colours that I thought I will not be able to use them on toys. I had already made another baby blanket with this pattern. I like this pattern as it is warm and looks nice too. It is very easy to make and there are lots of videos with this pattern. I always like to try new patterns and of course I have to like it too. Crochet blankets are fun to make as you don't have to concentrate all the time. I wanted to make this for a baby blanket but one of my daughters love the colours I chose and she wants it for herself. Here are the two blankets that I made and finished.

Amigurumi mouse

My grandchild was looking at some cartoons on the internet and he told me that he wanted a mouse. I asked him what colour he said grey at first but then he said orange. A day passed and I asked him again and he still said orange so I proceeded in making him one. I have lots of coloured wool which I like to finish so I can buy nicer colours. As you see I ran out of wool for the tail so I did it in grey. I used safety eyes and glued them for more safety as well but still we will watch him when he plays with it. I changed the nose part it was way too long for me and the hands and legs. I like the body very much. The lady who wrote this pattern did an awesome job I also like the ears. Let's see what he does when he sees it. It gives me so much pleasure when he likes the toys I make for him.

Amigurumi giraffe

I made this giraffe simply because I haven't done one. I searched for a nice giraffe on pinterest and google. I also searched for a free pattern I was looking for this type of giraffe. My youngest grandson started to hold toys in his hands and this one will be safe for him. It measures 36 centimeters a little tall then I imagined. I picked blue and white for this giraffe and embroidered eyes. I like how it came but the pattern was in a different language and I google translate it. it is a good toy for him to sleep with. I don't like how the ears are maybe I misunderstood somewhere. I should have made adjustments myself but I thought it might look good. The legs are a bit long too but kids don't know the difference. I Like the colours I used to make it. Here are the pictures of my giraffe.

Hairpin lace blanket

I found this new craft and I am always very tempting to try it out. I made a baby blanket I actually thought I would finish it quicker then I did.  You need a hairpin lace loom and a crochet hook to do this. I bought three hairpin lace loom the first one broke and the second one was the same as the first but made of metal but the third one is the best, it is made of metal and longer so it gives you plenty of room to count the stitches. That was the boring bit counting the stitches both sides and loose count and then you have to start again. You can be creative of making the rows wider or narrower as you please. I put a border too but  I found it harder to do the two sides. There are many videos to show you how it is done. So good luck if you give it a try.

Amigurumi doll 48cm tall

I always like Anya Sadovskaya  's dolls and since I made the plum doll I wanted the strawberry cupcake doll too. I love her work. She has about six or seven dolls. They are made up the same but the clothes are different. I bought two patterns one was in her language the other one is in English. I google translated the first one and I managed nicely. I did a few like that from different designers. I put strong wire in this doll so it is pretty bendable. Her hair took a ball and a half to fill up her head and mind you I didn't do all the posts. It is fairly easy to make but she doesn't have marks on the head for ears and where you should place the eyes, so you have to figure it out yourself. Oh! her eyes were supposes to be green and I did her skin colour darker I realized after I did her. I ran out of wool so this one hasn't got shoes. I could make her white, red, green or like her hair. What I like the most about this doll she has beads and I like her hat too. She is a large doll it measures forty eight centimeters. I always use wool to make stuff but I bought cotton which I would like to try out. I'm sure they will be smaller toys. I have one more project started then I would like to try my own pattern.

My lion

About two weeks ago my youngest daughter came to me and asked me if I make her a lion to give out as a present. Well I looked on pinterest and amigurumi free patterns to see if I like any. I finally decided on this one. I changed how she did the strings on the legs. The rest, I followed the whole pattern as hers. Since it is for a baby, I think the colours are too dark and it is very big for a baby to hold so I will make her another one and I will do it from Amigurumi to go. I like it standing instead of sitting and easier to hold. The maine does take a long time. It is not hard to do if you are familiar with making amigurumi. I bet my grandson would love it. I also included the lady's lion too. The third photo belongs to the lady I used the pattern from. Good luck in making one.

Crochet baby blanket

Hi guys, I had a grandson on the way so I decided to make him a blanket not that he needed one but to make him something new since I made another one for my other grandson. I weaved it but my daughter wanted it in stripes instead of the tartan look which I love. The choice of colours could have been better but I wanted to use what I had. I put an edging to look finished in blue. there are many videos for tartan pattern that is how I made this blanket. The stripes on the photos looks uneven but they are even. It takes awhile to make as it is a bit fiddly but it is very satisfying to see it ready.

Amigurumi banana

Since I made a monkey my youngest daughter suggested I should make a banana so I searched for a pattern and I found this one. The banana is too big for that monkey so I have to make a smaller one for it. I found the yellow part after the peel a little hard to do so good luck with that, if any one wants to try it. There are lots of fruits out there if you have little girls and have lots of fun making them. I made him wink as I had only one eye in that colour, don't know how because I buy the eyes in pairs.I also added a that brown bit it looks better I reckon.

Hat

I made this hat  and I had to change everything about the pattern. The pattern was too small with one yarn so I did use two yarns. I still had to change the googles pattern it was way too small. I stitched the white line by hand. I had trouble doing it with the hook. The back is not that wonky let's hope it looks good on it is certainly warm hat for winter. I think I will add straps so he can tie it to his chin.

AmigurumiBB doll, my version

I made this doll from Vanja's patterns She made this doll very recent and she shared it for free isn't she the most generous, creative, kindest person in the world? I have been looking to make a doll that has moving hands and feet. I almost gave up and then I just saw this pattern.I had to make it. I had made a material doll with some help long time ago. I knew you attach something in the shoulders and thighs. I forgot how we did it but Vanja explains and shows photos how it's done. I changed the hand and did fingers. I like it to look as real as possible and kept going with her pattern I unpicked many times to continue with her rows but I managed at the end. The hair took a long time I split the wool into three strands and then insert it in each hole which seems forever. I don't know where this patience came from. I had trouble making the top so I made the dress myself making sure it fitted the doll. My daughter wanted me to make her lips so I tried. I think pink would have been better then red. I can draw good eyes but embroidering  them is another thing. I still have to make shoes and an apron so the dress is not too plain i will add the photo when it is all done. I will make a male doll. Some pictures for you to see.

My sleeping doll

My sleeping doll again without a pattern. So far I keep trying and see what I can come up with that is cute. I got inspired for this doll from the waldorf sleeping baby. I felted the eyes and lips. It is easier to do then embroider them. As you can see it is pretty basic for those who have done dolls before. I like making dolls and before I finish one thing I'm already thinking of what I'm going to do next. You will find out from the next photo I guess if you keep checking.

large dolphin

I made this dolphin from Amidorable Crochet.
I had fun making this dolphin. It is made it with two yarns so it comes bigger. I made two tail so it is not floppy. It is easy to make once you know how to read the amigurumi patterns. I also put a rattle in it. It is 46 centimeters long. I am very happy how it turned out that I made another one with one thread.

It doesn't look like much of a difference but there is,the small one measures 36 centimeters. There is 10 centimeters difference.

In this photo is the picture of the smaller dolphin. I made that light blue.
