Very popular these days for people to buy unicorn but I made one not too thrilled about it. I liked the sleeping unicorn, it is a free pattern. I am hard on myself I think it is not perfect. The feet might not be perfectly positioned and will annoy me. I have more white wool which I might make another look of a unicorn.I will have to find another free pattern. It is really good way to use some co,oured scraps of yarn for the mane and tail. I can't seem to find a toy big enough for a girl or boy to cuddle up they are always very small.

Crochet handmade girl's coat
I saw this crochet coat and I liked it so much that I had to make it. I like the ears on the hood and the bow at the back. I had to follow a video and I wanted to use her colours yarns too but here we haven't got a big selection. It is not hard to make and since I have grandsons only it will be on etsy. I would like to make one in a single crochet but it might take forever to make. I still haven't found the correct buttons for it. I like to make them in dusty pink or purple pink. I am still looking for the correct buttons My last resolution is white. I love the ears on the hood. Here is the girl's coat.

Starched old doilies
I wanted to see if the starch works to stiffen things. I found these old doilies that I had from years ago and I tried them out. I first went on you tube to see how they starch stuff. They use only water and corn starch which they boil till it become somewhat clear and thicker. When it cools down you dunk the doilies in that solution and sqeeze as much out as possible.Cover with glad wrap over a shaped bowl that you like and put the doily on it and shape it nicely, as it will dry out that way. There are different stiffener that you can choose I like this type.

Crochet Wayuu bag
I made this beautiful bag because the other one I made came a bit small. This is a very good size for a bag. It is called a wayuu bag and you can find a video tutorial for this bag. As always I change it to make it my own. I am going to give it to my youngest for Christmas. She hasn't seen it yet. The other one I made it into a bag pack this one you wear it over the shoulders or crossed at the front or back. My daughter would love these colours. You would think it is hard all these colour changes but it is not that hard. I used acrylic yarn.
Crochet blue basket
I made this basket to see if it holds. I made it with two strands of yarn to see how stiff it comes out. It holds but maybe I should you glue and water I think the formula is to stiffen it up. I don't like the sugar method it might bring ants is summer. I think I might experiment a little more with this basket idea. I also tried a design on it. I put a white insert as well. Let'see if my eldest daughter likes it. I need to try a rectangle or square basket too.

Amigurumi snowmen
Since it is close to Christmas I thought I will make somethings for the stall that I will be having next month at the market. I decided to make snowmen and I found a free pattern but I thought it is bigger then I wanted. I kept making them smaller so I made a second one, then a third. I still want it smaller so I will try again. I would like to make crochet hands but I don't know if I can be bothered. I want to make it like stick hands. Sometimes I can't be bothered with sewing and then I end up doing blankets.

Amigurumi giraffe
I made this giraffe simply because I haven't done one. I searched for a nice giraffe on pinterest and google. I also searched for a free pattern I was looking for this type of giraffe. My youngest grandson started to hold toys in his hands and this one will be safe for him. It measures 36 centimeters a little tall then I imagined. I picked blue and white for this giraffe and embroidered eyes. I like how it came but the pattern was in a different language and I google translate it. it is a good toy for him to sleep with. I don't like how the ears are maybe I misunderstood somewhere. I should have made adjustments myself but I thought it might look good. The legs are a bit long too but kids don't know the difference. I Like the colours I used to make it. Here are the pictures of my giraffe.

Nemo
One of my daughters suggested I should make Nemo. So I searched for a Nemo that I liked. I bought the pattern and I tried it out. I like the end result. It is not really that hard but all the joining and hide the yarn so it doesn't come undone took awhile. I would make the fins differently if I do it again. I will make it slightly larger. The colours are stunning orange and white go so well together. I did black stripes because I didn't have darker orange on the fins I like them better. I found the pattern on amigurumi patterns or pinterest search for Nemo. For you out there who wants to give it a go it is not hard and with basic crochet you can do this. You need to also know how to read patterns. Here is mine.

Hairpin lace blanket
I found this new craft and I am always very tempting to try it out. I made a baby blanket I actually thought I would finish it quicker then I did. You need a hairpin lace loom and a crochet hook to do this. I bought three hairpin lace loom the first one broke and the second one was the same as the first but made of metal but the third one is the best, it is made of metal and longer so it gives you plenty of room to count the stitches. That was the boring bit counting the stitches both sides and loose count and then you have to start again. You can be creative of making the rows wider or narrower as you please. I put a border too but I found it harder to do the two sides. There are many videos to show you how it is done. So good luck if you give it a try.

Granny squares colourful blanket
It has been a while but blankets do take longer time to make. My second daughter came up to me and asked me if I could make her a colourful blanket and ofcourse I said yes. She was choosing all the colours that she wanted together, she helped a little too making the granny squares. I think she did a very good job in picking up the colours together. It took me less then two months to make I mostly worked at nights on it. She also wanted wider border and she wanted that floral finish too. I am glad I did something for her that she wished for. Mothers' are good at that pleasing their children.

Bananas in pajamas
Bananas in pajama finally done. It was an order for a baby boy. I never wrote the pattern I tried different every time. One came a little bit bigger head and one has bigger belly. The third one would have been good I reckon. I used different Technic each time to improve it and to sew less each time. I The first one was challenging but the last one I kind of knew what I was doing. Anyway I'm sure the baby boy would love them if the lady who ordered them doesn't like them my grandsons would. I think I am better following a pattern then making my own. I embroidered the eyes for neater finish. The stripes came better finished the way I've done them.

Banana in pyjamas
My youngest daughter told me that, there is a lady that she knew and she was wondering if I could make her banana in pyjama for her grandson. It is a Tv show for kids. I searched for a pattern but I could not find one so I tried it. The first one came good but the head was abit small. The second one I like the head. I did both of them similar technic. If I crocheted them in continuous rounds the lines would also come in spiral instead of straight lines and I didn't want that. I embroidered the eyes. There is improving in both so maybe third time lucky. I still need to make B2 because I gave b2 to my grandson. The stripes came good I like the reverse side too maybe I should do the other one on the reverse side, I will see.

Baby's shorts and hat
Hi guys, I was quick to come up with something this time. I crocheted a short and a hat for my little grandson. I checked on some patterns and videos and I managed to make a set over night. I wanted it to be like a sailor suit. I didn't manage to make a top though if I find a pattern I can easily make one. I like white with dark blue trimmings. I would have added an anchor but my daughter didn't like it. It is more like a costume so she can take a baby photo in them. Here is a photo of them sorry no patterns.

Their title
This is my last piece that I have done for her beside the boutonniere which she had two kinds. One we had to insert a candle and the other ones almonds so yes we were very busy. My daughter also wanted the bridal table to be decorated with their name so she ordered Mr and Mrs and their surname. It was raw mdf so I bought undercoat and paint spray. It has to be done slowly so you don't get drips and also covers evenly. So I managed to make them with a lot of patience.

Sock monkey with the banana
I made this sock monkey from Amigurumi to go. Sharon is very generous to share her patterns for free. I made this monkey a banana and it is not that I don't like sharing patterns, I never get to finish them because if I unpick I will loose track of what I did. I also did less white on the hands and legs and added them in green. I sewed the banana to it's hand so it has moving arms. It could be more fun for little kids to play with.

Black and white Zebra
I made this Zebra from the book Edward's Menagerie. My youngest daughter gave it to me for Christmas. I only did one thing and I decided to make more. It is hard to work with black wool but it does look nicer. This toy is safe for younger kids and the eyes have been embroidered. I enjoyed making it. The mane is different it doesn't explain how so I made up my own. It looks better and also the tail I couldn't understand what he meant.

Large owl
This owl kit was given to me for Christmas. It is fairly large. It is very easy to do. I changed the eyes and the beak and my daughter said it was cuter as the picture so there you go. I don't get the cuteness in toys. In painting the more that looks real the more I think they did a fantastic job. I also like the amigurumi toys to look more real. I did some that do not. Some I like the look others I think I'm able to make. Here is the picture of the owl

My dog
I made this painting about two or three years ago. I never learnt how to paint, though I picked art at school. I never forget, it was a male teacher. It was his first year teaching in a girls school. All he wanted to do was, fool around with the girls. I hate him for it because I was seriously about learning how to draw and paint. Maybe no one can teach you that. It was done free hand no tricks of tracing before hand. I am proud of it at least it resembles a dog. She is so cute.

Miniature panda
I made this from Amigurumi to go
I didn't use embroidery thread. I used normal wool, but it is still very cute don't you agree?
